MEDICAL INFORMATICS is a developing body of knowledge concerned with the use of information and communication technology in support of MEDICAL research, education and also for promoting health care delivery. The field focuses on the bioMEDICAL information, patient data, and also acquisition, storage, retrieval and optimal use of information for solving problem and decision making. The goal of MEDICAL INFORMATICS is to help health care workers improve their way of working and the outcome of their performances. There is a variety of classification types for the different applications of MEDICAL INFORMATICS among which Telemedicine, Electronic MEDICAL Records, Information Retrieval and Decision Support Systems are the most important. Different applications of MEDICAL INFORMATICS can contribute to better outcomes in patient care and decrease the costs of health care services through error reduction, providing patients with their needed information and supporting physicians with updated information and related knowledge.

Introduction: The drive for health care and MEDICAL sciences to become evidence-based has been accelerated during recent years and therefore quick access to relevant information without the use of information and communication technology seems impossible. The aim of this study was to evaluate MEDICAL students' knowledge of computers and information science in Urmia University.Methods: This survey was implemented using questionnaire research method. A total of 166 from 275 MEDICAL students in different levels namely physiopathology, internship, and externship were assessed in November 2006. The data were collected in questionnaires. They were analyzed with SPSS.Results: Some 71.3% of the students had access to a computer at their homes but most of them (77%) had had no formal computer training before. Most of students could send and receive emails and also attach a file to it. Most of them had a little information about advanced search tools (27.7%) and search operators (5.4%). Approximately 1/3 of students knew about MEDICAL information banks and used them.Conclusion: Most of students had no formal computer training before, though such trainings would help students perform educational search tasks more quickly. Students had a little information about using search tools, though they are the most important tools for getting access to information resources within the web. MEDICAL information banks are sources that would help MEDICAL students to gain more quick access to useful articles; however, students had little information about these important sources and therefore did not use them frequently.

Mobile apps can also facilitate clinical diagnosis, treatment, and even MEDICAL procedures for health professionals. Background & Aims: The importance of "publish or perish" in academic contexts, especially for faculties and graduate students, is an undeniable problem because of its role in determining university achievement around the world. To deal with such problems, academic writers must be fluent in language repertoires (e. g., lexical bundles), which are an essential component of scholarly writing and necessary for creating publishable research articles (RAs). Material & Methods: Hence, the present study reviews 85 empirical RAs that have been done to extract highly frequent 4-word lexical bundles (LBs) published between 2008 and 2021 in ISI and Scopus-indexed journals across various hard sciences disciplines including MEDICAL sciences. Additionally, it offers a list of the general academic four-word LBs in the various sections of hard sciences RAs that can be used as a reference list of general LBs for scholarly writing in hard sciences. Results: The review revealed that in each discipline, the experts use discipline-specific bundles. The findings also revealed that academic writing structurally relies heavily on phrasal bundles and functionally on referential bundles. Conclusion: The current study concludes that it is essential to explore disciplinary linguistic features such as LBs in academic writing to enhance academic success and RA literacy. The results may also be useful in developing appropriate educational materials and activities on LBs for academic writing in hard sciences such as MEDICAL sciences.

Objective: In many countries, the advancements in information technologies and the decentralized computing method has inspired hope to take advantage of modern information technologies, such as artificial intelligence, in order to overcome the unique challenges in global health including the coronavirus crisis. The following study tries to examine the possible future scenarios in the industry, with the aim of discovering new opportunities to increase health and quality of life.Findings: Considering the research literature, seventeen drivers, which had affected the research in three dimensions, were identified and the Delphi method was used for the accuracy of confirmation, their rankings and for the calculation of their certainty. The relationships between the drivers and the identified dimensions were measured and confirmed in the form of hypotheses and model presentations by structural equation methods. Using the cross-matrix method, five drivers were identified as risk and goal. Finally, through the identification of uncertainty and risk and goal drivers, four scenarios were developed.Conclusion: Conclusion: The treatment structure and MEDICAL equipment influenced by COVID-19 pandemic conditions and due to the growth rate, optimal and intelligent application of modern digital technologies creates a wide-ranging evolution in this field and illustrates the possibility of achieving a desired future by taking advantage of the scenario of the formation of an interconnected global society and the realization of global health in the interaction of artificial intelligence drivers, novel production demands, sanctions, internet of things (IoT) and blockchain.
